And the Bus Drives On
A film about the last real opera buffs and about the love for the great melodies of the italian opera.
produced by: Felix Breisach Medienwerkstatt, ORF and 3SAT (58 minutes) 2004
Cast: Plácido Domingo, Hertha Haider, Rudolf Szokoll, Christa Mayer, Elite Tours and many others.
Director Werner Boote presents opera fans in their Austrian homes and accompanies the opera buffs in a bus to Torre del Lago, Italy, for the 100th. anniversary of the premiere of Giacomo Puccinis "Madame Butterfly". There already is a lot of singing on the highway!

For the real opera fans there is no operahouse too far away. They are travelling almost everywhere to watch their stars singing.
Werner Boote himself calls this film a homage to Federico Fellinis „E la nave va“ (And the Ship Sails On).
